Royals rout Rangers behind a do-it-all performance from starter and winning pitcher Bruce Dal Canton.  With plenty of support, Dal Canton rallied after being knocked around in the first 3 innings to last 6.2 innings and save some of a taxed bullpen.  At the plate, Dal Canton was 2/3 with a walk and 3 runs scored.

After KC scored 4 in the top of the 2nd to take a 4-1 lead, the Rangers battled back in the bottom of the inning to get back to 4-3.  KC then scored 4 in the 4th and 2 in the 5th to salt it away.  John Mayberry had RBI singles in both innings to lead that charge.

The Royals 17 hit attack was led by Amos Otis' 4 hits, including 2 doubles, and 3 hits each by Mayberry and Lou Piniella.  The Rangers got back within 10-6 in the 7th, capitalizing on Dal Canton running out of gas and Norm Angelini's wildness, but hard throwing Angelini was able to work out of it. 

Both teams get a day off tomorrow for some rest.  KC goes home to open the home slate against the Angels, while the Rangers take an airplane to Oakland to face the A's.

Royals Win at Texas, 11-6 John Mayberry was a major contributor to the 11-6 Kansas City win over Texas. The Royals first baseman was 3-4 with a double, 2 singles, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Bruce Dal Canton was the winning pitcher. Over 6.2 innings, he allowed 5 runs on 9 hits, with 2 walks and 6 strikeouts. The win gives Kansas City a record of 3-1. Who knows how it might've ended, had it not been for Lou Piniella? The Kansas City left fielder had a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth inning to put the Royals on top, 5-3. For the game, Piniella had 1 double and 2 singles in 6 at-bats. "Winning never gets dull," said Mayberry.
